WTC Savannah and GA Power host International Event

SAVANNAH, GA, U.S.A. – On March 26-28, World Trade Center Savannah, in collaboration with Georgia Power, hosted more than a dozen regional economic development authorities (EDAs) and Consuls General from Belgium, Brazil, Germany, Nigeria, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom. The event provided an opportunity for the Consular Corps guests to learn about the opportunities that the region offers for international business and foreign direct investment. The event also allowed EDAs and regional business leaders to network with representatives who can assist in their international endeavors. The unique event spanned over three days and included presentations, networking functions with regional EDAs, business representatives and the Consular Corps as well as tailored county tours within the region.

The event began with a performance at the 25th Annual Savannah Music Festival. “Ladies Sing the Blues” allowed dignitaries and representatives of the Consular Corps to connect with the leadership of the regional EDAs. On the second day, several EDA representatives were paired with Consuls General for a customized tour of their county. WTC Savannah Partner, Effingham County Industrial Development Authority, had the opportunity to host Ambassador Hermano Telles Ribeiro, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Brazil to the Southeastern United States and Ambassador Geoffrey Teneilabe, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in Effingham County.

Following the familiarization tours of Savannah’s neighboring counties; the guests were invited to enjoy an evening waterfront reception and dinner. The following morning included virtual tours and presentations on more of the region at WTC Savannah. Alongside Georgia Power, the EDAs provided information on their county’s existing assets and opportunities for growth internationally.
