Aug 22, 2014

ROGERS, AR, USA - The World Trade Center Arkansas joined a trade mission led by Governor Mike Beebe to England. The delegation attended the Farnborough International Air Show, one of the world’s premier aviation trade shows. Aerospace is the largest export sector for our state. The trip’s main objectives were to develop new relationships, discover new investors, create more jobs, and reinforce this strong industry. Economic development organizations traveled with the group and represented the aerospace industry of Arkansas. CAVU Aerospace from Stuttgart, Galley Support from Sherwood, Actronix Inc. from Flippin, Arkansas Aeroplex from Blytheville and additional Arkansas airports were in the Arkansas booth.

Trade shows such as this one can be very beneficial in finding new suppliers, buyers for our manufacturers, and investors for Arkansas companies. Galley Support Innovations located in Sherwood is an active partner with WTC Arkansas, which has been able to provide funds from federal and state grant awards to assist small businesses across the state. The financial backing has given companies like Galley Support Innovations the opportunity to attend other trade shows such as this one in Farnborough. Since working with WTC Arkansas, their business has grown in revenue and employees, thus creating more jobs in Arkansas. Participation in the Farnborough International Air Show further advanced the aerospace business for the state of Arkansas.
