Nov 05, 2013

Political, economic, social, university strengths … A whole region dashes into an initiative with great potential of territorial innovations, energy efficiency, economic development, job creation.

In the front line of this project of the Third industrial, unique revolution in France: Philippe Vasseur, president of the CCI de région Nord de France, president of World Forum Lille and Daniel Percheron, president of the Conseil régional Nord Pas of Calais
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Nord-Pas de Calais region and the Regional Council of the Nord-Pas de Calais region entrusted Jeremy Rifkin with the task of putting together the road map that set the region on the energy development path.
This forward-looking approach puts the Nord-Pas de Calais region at the cutting-edge in the area of energy development and the development of a post-carbon economy. This initiative that is unique in France has plenty of potential in many areas, particularly in the area of job creation, economic development and a new economic unity.
For the region, the objective is twofold:
Drawing up a vision and long-term prospects
Getting actively involved in energy development and economic development by launching business and job-creating initiatives over a very short timescale
By 2050, Nord-Pas-de-Calais settles for objective to decrease its energy consumption of 60 % while investing massively in the renewable energies. Nord-Pas-de-Calais will be one of the most efficient, productive and sustainable regions in the world.
