XIAMEN, CHINA - Following two years of success in organizing large delegation the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) held on September 8-11 each year, the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) is organizing a third participation to the CIFIT.
As a most important part of the Program, the 3rd WTCA China Forum is scheduled on September 9 during the CIFIT. Themed “Development Finance Assisting Enterprises Going Global” and co-organized by the WTCA, CIFIT Organizing Committee, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), China Development Bank and CCIPT Xiamen, the Forum has invited as keynote speakers Mr. David Daokui Li, former member to the People’s Bank of China Monetary Policy Committee and Professor of Economics at Tsinghua University, Mr. Li Yang, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Director of its Institute of Finance and Banking, and other prominent scholars, government officials and business leaders.
In addition to the 3rd China Forum, the 2014 WTCA Access China/CIFIT Program also includes a WTCA Pavilion to showcase WTCA global network and participating WTCs, a roundtable between WTCA leadership and member WTCs, a visit to WTC Quanzhou, matchmaking session for trade missions and other activities upon availability. Through the Program, the WTCA aims to showcase/brand the WTCA global network as a top international trade facility and service provider to the Chinese and international business communities, achieve the strengthening of global WTCA network and reciprocity by facilitating cross-WTC/cross-region connections, and provide access to the fast-growing Chinese market via its member WTCs in the country.
In recognition of CIFIT as a top international investment and trade facilitation platform organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China, the WTCA entered into a strategic partnership agreement with CIFIT Organizing Committee in September 2011. In 2012 and 2013, the WTCA organized participation to CIFIT with the WTCA Pavilion and the WTCA China Forums which featured Mr. Long Yongtu, former Vice Minister of MOFCOM and chief negotiator for China’s accession to WTO, Mr. Justin Yifu Lin, former chief economist and senior vice president for World Bank – the first non-Western chief economist of World Bank in its history of 62 years, Mr. Jia Kang, President of Research Institute for Fiscal Science of China’s Ministry of Finance. In addition, the Program included foreign investment environment introduction session for overseas WTCs and matchmaking for trade mission delegates. More than 120 delegates from 24 WTCs all over the world attended the Program during 2013 CIFIT.
