Jul 28, 2014

MANILA, PHILIPPINES - Ms. Bella Heule, WTCA Executive Vice President and Ms. Julia Gonzalez, WTCA Events Manager, traveled to Manila, Philippines on July 9-13, 2014, to work with the WTC Metro Manila (WTCMM) team, who will host the WTCA 2015 General Assembly (GA).

Their visit included: meetings with Rommel Leuterio, WTCMM Senior Managing Director, and Pamela Pascual, WTCMM Senior V.P. & General Manager, and several staff members; discussions on programming and logistics; inspection of the National Museum; as well as tours of the city and of the Tagaytay region, which will be offered as part of, or in addition to, the GA program.

Bella and Julia stayed at and toured the official GA hotel - the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila Hotel. The Sofitel offers impressive facilities, dining areas, an elegant ballroom and other convenient business venues. It is also the only resort hotel in Manila who has as its signature facility an exquisite lagoon-shaped pool, breathtaking with its sparkling turquoise waters.

“This was a most memorable and productive advance planning mission. Based on our experiences, I believe that the 2015 WTCA GA, titled “Better Together through Global Unity & Cooperation”, will give Members the tools and contacts needed to conduct trade and investment with the Philippines…all while feeling like they are on vacation. The gracious Filipino hospitality, combined with the flavorful cuisine and the interesting history and sites, are a testament to their slogan…– It’s more fun in the Philippines!”

- Julia Gonzalez, WTCA Events Manager
