WTC Sao Paulo hosts the seminar: "Lithuania: A Country as Ambitious as You Are"

São Paulo, Brazil - The World Trade Center São Paulo Business Club, in partnership with the Consulate General of Lithuania in São Paulo, hosted the and executive lunch about Lithuania: A Country as Ambitious as You Are, on December 4th. The meeting promoted the business opportunities in the country’s strongest sectors: Engineering, Food & Beverages, Information Technology, Life Sciences and Tourism.
Mrs. Laura GUOBUŽAITĖ, Consulate General of Lithuania in São Paulo brought key information about the business and investment environment conditions. The country grew 3,7% in 2012, reaching 32.9 Billion EU, and features a set of advantages for foreign Businesses such as Highly educated population: 93% has secondary or higher education; labor costs are 4 times lower than the EU average (minimum hourly wage is 1.76 EUR); tax incentives in seven Special Economic Zones (0% corporate tax for the first 6 years).
In Life Sciences sector, for example, it’s becoming a new center for R&D of Pharmaceutics industries in Europe due to its long history in scientific research and triple times tax deduction for R&D investments. Not surprisingly, it’s base for industries such as TEVA, Thermo Fischer and Valeant Pharmaceuticals.
Other sectors were also highlights, as well as the perspective of a Lithuanian descendant who started successful IT Company in Brazil, presented by Mr. Francisco Ricardo Blagetvitch, Founder and CEO of Asyst International. In the end of the event, the participants could network with the Lithuanian enterprises and generate several business connections.
The World Trade Center São Paulo develops internationalization strategies to the local and foreign companies, aiming to prepare, promote and connect them to actually make fruitful business in the targeted market.
