NEW IBM CENTER IN LILLE TO CREATE 700 JOBS

American IT giant chooses EuraTechnologies complex for new French service center

On June 24, IBM announced the opening of a new service center in Lille, a move expected to create 200 jobs in its first year and 700 jobs over three years.

IBM Services Center Lille will provide French clients with locally-based technological expertise tailored to their specific needs in systems integration, application development and application management. The region’s wide range of training programs in technology convinced the IT giant to make the center a growth driver.

IBM’s decision to locate in Lille was the product of a model partnership between EuraTechnologies, Lille's Agency (formerly APIM) and Nord France Invest, which made the initial contact. The three organizations worked hand in hand with IBM’S project team to craft a proposal that met all of their needs.

“We’re delighted to welcome IBM to EuraTechnologies, a center of technological excellence that has grown steadily since 2009 and currently counts 130 companies,” said Pierre de Saintignon, First Vice- President of the Nord-Pas de Calais Regional Council and President of EuraTechnologies.

“Over the last two years, IBM has invested massively in France. I am very proud to be here today to inaugurate our Lille Service Center, which will help hundreds of people find jobs in a sector of the future,” said Alain Bénichou, CEO of IBM France.
