NEW YORK, NY, USA – Notable leaders from around the world gathered at the United Nations’ Headquarters in New York City to speak at the International Young Leaders Assembly (IYLA) on August 19, 2014. WTCA Executive Vice President Bella Heule was invited to share her journey to personal and professional success, alongside seven other influential panelists. The event, entitled “Moral and Innovative Leadership: Vision, Service & Entrepreneurship”, was led by the UN Mission of Paraguay and was attended by approximately 400 visitors from over eighty countries.
Each panelist of this High Level Plenary addressed the audience of mostly students and young professionals, motivating them to take action, create change, and become true leaders. Bella captivated the audience with her powerful insights on how to set oneself apart and create positive change. To become a global leader, Ms. Heule emphasized, one must:
1. Do what you love to do
2. Determine your values
3. Go beyond ‘what’s in it for me’
4. Take action to ensure entrepreneurial success
Her callout to “BE BOLD” was met with much enthusiasm from both the audience and her fellow presenters.
Bella was also joined on the panel by a fellow WTC Colleague, John Dickson of WTC Okinawa, who is also the Chairman of the Global Young Leaders Academy, a sponsor of the event. Additional panelists included: Julia A. Maciel Gonzalez, Counselor-Delegate to the 5th Committee of the UN; H.E. Marcelo Scappini, Deputy Permanent Representative of Paraguay to the UN; H.E. Simona Mirela-Miculescu, Permanent Representative of Romania to the UN; Ambassador Ahmad Alhendawi, UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy on Youth; Rt.
