Again Green Key Gold for WTC Rotterdam

ROTTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS - The Congress & Event Center of WTC Rotterdam was already certified with a Green Key certificate in 2011. Green Key is an international eco-label for sustainable businesses in the recreation and leisure industry as well as meeting and conference/exhibition/trade fair locations. Upon obtaining the certificate WTC Rotterdam made the promise: “Green Key Gold Forever!”, considering Gold is the highest level in the inspection. After the second re-examination WTC Rotterdam showed again that they fulfill this promise.

The certificate has been extended with two years. Although the testing standards are expanded and reinforced annually, it has not stopped the Congress & Event Center of WTC Rotterdam to do everything possible to maintain the level Gold. To meet the requirements, a lot is invested in sustainability. Led by the environmental coordinator Stephan Kosse, various measures are taken again.

In the context of durability, among others, the lighting in various rooms is adapted. Also electric charging points are installed in the car parks of WTC Rotterdam, to encourage the use of electric cars. In addition, the necessary adjustments are made in the culinary fields, even more sustainable products are being used in the venue.
