WTC Winnipeg a valuable asset, says Minister Fast

Apr 27, 2014

WINNIPEG, MB, CANADA - “The World Trade Centre Winnipeg (WTC Winnipeg) and the Government of Canada are clearly moving in the same direction,” said the Honourable Ed Fast, Federal Minister of International Trade. “It is one of those organizations that make our actions possible by continuing to offer new business opportunities to Manitobans and Canadians.”

The message is clear: the WTC Winnipeg is a valuable asset for the international trade development targeted by the federal government. By supporting Manitoba businesses and offering them partnership and export opportunities, the Winnipeg organization is effectively meeting its primary mission of enhancing Manitoba’s international presence.

The luncheon with the Honourable Ed Fast, held on April 15 at the landmark Fort Garry Hotel and hosted by WTC Winnipeg, was yet another example of the organization’s vitality. Manitoba entrepreneurs had the opportunity to learn more about the federal policy and forward-looking economic planning first-hand from the Minister of International Trade. Discussing the government’s agenda and highlighting successes in terms of economic growth and employability linked to the new free trade agreements and export growth were the two main focuses of the event. These successes include Manitoba’s small-and medium-sized businesses that the WTC Winnipeg is committed to promoting.

“The WTC Winnipeg gives Winnipeg visibility in a region that is absolutely critical for Canada’s overall economic growth,” said Minister Fast. The WTC Winnipeg intends to highlight the fundamental role played by local businesses in national agreements.
