SAVANNAH, GEORGIA, USA – On August 14, World Trade Center Savannah (WTC Savannah) hosted a global education program for the public, “Doing Business with Canada and Mexico”. The program highlighted the opportunities of doing business with neighbors of the United States: Canada and Mexico.
The program included presentations by Todd Gerkin, Director of U.S. Commercial Service for the South Georgia U.S. Export Assistance Center, Kathy Oxford, Senior International Trade Manager of the Georgia Department of Economic Development and Georges Lemieux, Consul and Senior Trade Commissioner for the Consulate General of Canada in Atlanta.
Topics included status of trade and current opportunities between the U.S., Mexico and Canada and the state of Georgia, Mexico and Canada as well as trade promotion opportunities and services available to businesses. Additional topics included working with the Georgia Department of Economic Development to find partners, sourcing from Canadian companies and Global Value Chains, investing in Canada and developing science and technology/innovation partnerships with Canadian companies.
