Moscow, November 19. The 8th Russian National Lean-Forum opened at the World Trade Center Moscow. It is for the first time that it is held in Moscow.
Among the organizers of the event were the Lean-Forum Organization Committee, GK “Orgprom” with the support and participation of the Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship of Moscow, as well as the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Leading specialists and thought-leaders of lean-technologies implementation were invited to participate in the Forum: Michael Weider, Director of Lean Manufacturing System Implementation Group and Head of Lean Plus, author of «Lean Tools: A Pocket Guide to Implementing Lean Practices»; Sergey Shmakov, Vice President of the Moscow CCI; Aleksey Komissarov, Minister of the Government of Moscow, Head of the Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship of Moscow; Jeffrey Liker, holder of 11 Shingo Prizes for Excellence, professor of industrial and operation engineering with the University of Michigan, author of “Dao Toyota”, “The Toyota Way to lean Leadership”, etc., member of the Association of Industrial Excellence Hall of Fame; Pietro Bertazzi, Senior Manager, Politics and Government Issues, GRI.
Welcome address was delivered by Deputy Director General of WTC Moscow Sergey Kudryashov who noted the importance of promotion of new technologies in the Russia in the WTO environment characterized by complex processes. “Market and competition demands have been growing and currently the matters of production and labor efficiency are extremely relevant. We do understand it and, thus, in 2013 we embarked on our own project of lean technologies implementation. It is at its earliest stage but next year we expect more significant results”, said S. Kudryashov.
The Forum and subsequent events will be held at the WTCM until the end of the week.
