WTC Montevideo Free Zone.

February 25, 2021 - WTC Montevideo Free Zone, the Free Trade Zone of Services that attracts global technology companies. After an investment of USD 45 million, last December Tower 2 became operational, consolidating the growth of WTC Montevideo Free Zone, the Free Trade Zone Complex. The new tower is located next to Tower 1, where over 200 companies and 1,500 people working in give proof of a successful trajectory. As occupancy in Tower 2 evolves, there will be over 3,500 people working in both towers every day. With a modern infrastructure and 22 floors, Tower 2 offers about 16,000 square meters of offices (805 square meters each). Operations started with over 15 companies confirmed, mainly from the IT sector. Easily accessible from any spot in the city, it is strategically located inthe region and in the heart of Montevideo, with the seafront and a full range of services within less than 200 meters. Like Tower 1, the new Tower will be LEED certified, which guarantees that the building complies with all the regulations on the incorporation and use of materials related to the preservation and protection of the environment. Among the firms that have confirmed their operations in the tower, we highlight FinTech, a Uruguayan unicorn company, dLocal, the Argentinian technology giant and unicorn company, Globant, Deloitte, Etermax (a technology and creativity international company), blockchain industry firms and other professional services firms. Currently, there are several prospects for technology and professional services firms that wish to set up their headquarters in Uruguay and export services from here to the world mainly with Uruguayan talent. Tower 2 offers different occupancy options, from whole floors to fractions or the Evolution Center, a fully equipped space with all the services typical of a turnkey solution for companies composed of a maximum of 8 people. Our professional, multidisciplinary team provides solutions and support to clients during the project development: from the best commercial solution, organization of documentation to support during the planning and execution of the works. Likewise, the Free Trade Zone Complex offers full HR services, and at the community level, by means of conferences, events and activities that promote interaction and networking, personal growth and professional development are fostered. WTC Montevideo Free Zone has received two recognitions from Great Place to Work in Uruguay. We ranked #28 on the Best Places to Work in Latin America list (up to 500 employees category), and #3 on the Best Places to Work for Women in Uruguay list (up to 150 employees category). We highly appreciate these prestigious recognitions which motivate us to become an excellent workplace in Uruguay and worldwide. Read More

Ending 2016 at WTC Montevideo Free Zone

December 26, 2016 - MONTEVIDEO, URUGUAY - WTC Montevideo Free Zone ended 2016 with successful experiences, providing its community of clients and all those who work in the tower a comprehensive portfolio of services. "Our Training Zone", the calendar of courses and training activities, was so well-attended that the team of professionals in charge of it felt encouraged to continue collaborating in our community’s training. The Practical Approach to Free Trade Zones and Global Services course, held in Meeting Room 3 from November 7 to December 5, was conducted by Cr. Ignacio Del, Dr. Alejandro Theodosopoulos, Mario Tucci and Cr. Eduardo Rodríguez, who contributed with their professional expertise by approaching and analyzing practical aspects of management related to Operators and Users of Free Trade Zones. The course also included a module about the characteristics and the history of the global services industry, its objectives and advantages, the outsourcing models, etc. The opportunity of sharing experiences and success stories of clients operating from WTC Montevideo Free Zone added value to the course. Within this period, four editions of “The Four Jobs of a Boss” workshops organized by Xn Partners were also held at Tempus, WTC 4’s meeting room, and at Hilton Garden Inn. They were conducted by Enrique Baliño, Ing. Gonzalo Noya and Ing. Diego Kenny. The events reached maximum capacity so, jointly with Xn Partners, we are already organizing a full program that will be implemented in 2017 and launched during the second half of February when Our Training Zone calendar of courses will be presented. For 2017, we are planning to incorporate new service offers intended for our community. To this end, we will implement a program comprising different service units which will help define communication strategies, events organization, strategic content, training activities, contributions to Corporate Social Responsibility and Wellness Programs. These services will be added to the existing portfolio of professional services that are currently provided to all the members of World Trade Center Montevideo community within the complex by WTC Montevideo Free Zone.To learn more about WTC Montevideo Free Zone, please click on the source link below. WTC Montevideo Contributes to Disease Prevention

October 27, 2016 - MONTEVIDEO, URUGUAY - For the third consecutive year, World Trade Center Montevideo and WTC Free Zone joined the Breast Cancer Prevention Campaign organized by Roche Laboratory, located in Tower 4. Banco Itaú, Basf and Samsung Life, companies located in the complex, were also actively involved in the action of lighting up the towers in pink, the dissemination of prevention messages and several other activities. October is the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Montevideo, like other major cities in the world, turns pink, as a symbol of thousands of women fighting the disease. On October 4th, World Trade Center Montevideo opened its doors to the fight against breast cancer by organizing an activity to reflect upon the disease and by lighting up the towers in pink throughout the month. In the lobby of Tower 4 an art exhibition called Vivir con él (Living with it) was held. Nineteen renowned artists took part in it and, through their work, made us reflect on the hope, the struggle and the strength of many of our women who have fought breast cancer. The exhibition was co-organized with Roche and World Trade Center Montevideo, and the funds raised through the sale of works of art benefitted Clara Berenbau’s Foundation. The opening event was very well-attended by guests and the press, who acknowledged the high quality of the exhibition and the participation of outstanding artists: Olga Armand Ugón / Virginia Barranguet / Eduardo Bolioli / Claudio Chanquet / Martha Escondeur / María Etcheverry / Rita Fischer / Fernando Fraga/ Guillermo García Cruz / Santiago Giani / Mane Gurméndez / Gastón Izaguirre / Jorge Mato / Marcos Medina / Mariana Olaso / Virginia Patrone / Sergio Porro / Dani Scharf and Felipe Secco.
