Mexico & Japan: Strengthening Trade Ties

The latest Café UANL with Japan highlighted the strong economic connection between both countries and its impact on key sectors such as industry and SMEs.

During the opening, Minister Tsukasa Hirota, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Japan in Mexico, emphasized the importance of the Mexico-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement and the development of the free trade treaty between the two nations.

Gustavo Alonso Rodríguez Rodríguez, General Director of Sumitomo México, stressed that these meetings provide valuable insights, allowing entrepreneurs to deeply understand Japanese business culture and its benefits for Mexico.

Eugenio José Reyes Guzmán, Director of the World Trade Center Monterrey - UANL, discussed the Japanese Keiretsu model, a network of closely collaborating companies without a single central authority. He highlighted its potential as a key reference to enhance business collaboration in Mexico.

Additionally, the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL) was recognized for its pivotal role in strengthening academic and business relations through its Asian Studies Center.

The event reaffirmed that Mexico and Japan not only share a strong history of collaboration but also a promising future.
