Binzhou is a prefecture-level city in northern Shandong province, China. Sitting on the Yellow River Delta, Binzhou has historically had an agrarian economy with its major Industries based on oil, chemicals and textiles. Binzhou, the city, has been diversifying its economy away from agriculture by attracting manufacturing and foreign direct investment into the city. The Binzhou local government has also plowed resources into a new economic development zone on the city's outskirts.
