As the global population continues to rise and arable land becomes scarcer, global food security faces a tough challenge: According to the forecast of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), food production needs to increase by some 70 percent until 2050. “To help advance world food security in light of this trend, we need a holistic approach where stakeholders in agriculture unite to achieve a more sustainable way of growing crops, at the quantities we need”, says Steffen Kurzawa, Head of Communications at Bayer CropScience.
In its second issue, Bayer CropScience’s new company magazine Farming’s Future demonstrates new examples of how this can be done. “With our activities at Bayer CropScience, we like to contribute to a better life of our customers and society at large,” adds Kurzawa.
