World Trade Center Kansas City & U.S. Commercial Service Partner for December session

Learn how to identify and protect your company’s intellectual property (IP) assets in a day-long event led by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (PTO).

The program is aimed at providing companies with the tools to develop an IP strategy to support expanded export sales and increased global business activities, while avoiding the pitfalls of IP theft and abuse. It is open to companies of all sizes in all industries from anywhere in the United States.

“Many companies fail to take the necessary steps to protect their intellectual property before selling internationally,” said Regina Heise, Director, U.S. Commercial Service-Kansas City. “Come learn from experts in the field, including the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, for its first visit to Kansas City since 2007.”

“As a self-described ‘recovering’ lawyer, I can attest to the importance of protecting your IP assets,” Jim Heeter, President & Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. “This one-stop, day-long session will help business executives better navigate the world of intellectual property.”

“Protecting Intellectual Property in the Global Marketplace” will be held Thursday, December 5, in the Board Room at Union Station, 30 West Pershing Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Continental breakfast and will be served at 7:30 a.m., with the program beginning at 8:00 a.m., closing out at 4:30 p.m.

Cost to attend is $125 per person. Space is limited. To register, visit www.wtc-kc.com.
