Chongqing WTC hosted "the Inaugural Meeting of the International BIM Technical Symposium DBU"

The biggest concern for the real estate industry, its upward and downward supply chain, is its ability to survive under the tighter regulation. 

 
On December 22, 2012, "the Inaugural Meeting of Real Estate from 3D to 5D - International of BIM Technical Symposium DBU " was held in the Chongqing Grand Metropark Hotel. This conference, hosted by Chongqing WTC and Chongqing Real Estate Association, was held by Chongqing Layer Real Estate Consultancy. This activity attracted the attention of the senior leadership of the major development enterprises, and dozens of mainstream media. In the event, well-known professors of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, BIM technology leaders together with the Chongqing real estate industry elites participated the thought-provoking event on leading technology.

Chairwoman of Chongqing WTC and Deputy Director General of the Chongqing Municipal Foreign Economic Li Shirong, and President of the Chongqing Real Estate Association, Mr. Mo Yuanchun both highly valued the promotion of technology in the industry. They hoped that the consensus would be shared by more industry professionals, namely the great opportunities generated from the exchanges of new ideas and new technologies. 

BIM technology is based on the three-dimensional digital technology, integrating the related data model for construction projects. Also it is applied in the process of real estate development and construction projects as a digital approach. The model reduces the cost and time, and optimizes the planning and design.

BIM applications, according to Hong Kong media reports, will have a significant impact on the real estate industry. Ms. Feng Yixuan, Director of the Hong Kong Housing Department, pointed out that the technology would cover all the projects in the Hong Kong Housing Department from 2014 to 2015. LAYER Institution in collaboration with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Research Center for Construction Innovation(RCCI), agreed on the more international standards-Digital Building Unit(DBU). Following the application of BIM in the real estate marketing system that supports unique location theory, the projects would have harvest greatest value under the current regulation. This meeting was perfect in gathering the real estate industry and the international advanced technologies, but also creating a good chance so that the elites involved in the whole industry chain could talk face to face. It is for sure that the new application of BIM technology will bring more opportunities and create more values.
